Temples Tigers & Treasures Itinerary
Settle into your beautifully appointed suites aboard the Antara Ganges Voyager in Kolkata (a city formerly known as Calcutta founded by the British Raj in 1773), the gateway to our journey along the world & holiest river, the sacred Ganges. Welcomed on board with a refreshing beverage followed by a safety briefing you embark between 1600 -1900 hrs from the Kolkata jetty. This evening, delight in the Cruise Director’s Gala dinner and welcome reception.
Late night or early morning depending on tide timings, you set sail along the Hooghly River to reach the fishing port
of Namkhana, the gatewayof the Sundarbans. You cruise past the Diamond Harbour & Kedgeree towards the Bay of Bengal. Sunderbans are the world’s largest delta mangrove forest and habitat of the famous Royal Bengal Tiger. Visit the fishing port of Namkhana (time permitting) or sail forward towards Sunderbans to visit protected areas.
Morning arrive at Boney camp Watch tower and to have first introductions to the mangrove forests . Later we sail in the Matla river to Hero Bhangra islands and disembark in country boat after lunch to visit Netidho pani area and then proceed to Bali island for overnight stay.
After an early start we ride on the country boat through mangrove creeks to the Dobanki Watchtower after visiting Sudhanyakhali and enjoy a canopy walk to view the riveting flora and fauna. This canopy walk is at an elevation of 20 feet from the ground and is about half a kilometer in length. Dobanki also has a Deer Rehabilitation Center.
We transfer to the ship for late lunch and sail to Namkhana
Early this morning we sail back to Kolkata enjoying breakfast and lunch on board arriving in the late afternoon. Short orientation tour of Kolkata by surface.
In the evening we sail for Kolkata by night while seeing
the monuments of Kolkatta during the night including
the Howrah bridge and Railway station. Dinner and then Depending on tide timings we will depart during the night or early morning upstream .We sail past the city of Kolkatta and its iconic bridges .Grand Dinner onboard Overnight.
After Breakfast visit Chandannagar for a walk to see the French building and enjoy the local ambience later we sail and lunch on board . Late afternoon short walk to visit the terracotta temp0le of Bansberia and then continue sailing upstream We have Deep Dan celebrations in the evening.

Morning enjoying breakfast on board. And then we sail to Bandel . Visit Bandel Imambara and then lunch on board . Late afternoon we reach Serampore and then walk in the old quarters to see the Danish Tavern, Church and other buildings.Dinner on Board and sail to Bally bridge overnight
After breakfast visit the Belur Math Math .Lunch and then disembark .
